I'm looking for a pretty versatile watch…?

by on August 31, 2008

I've looked around a little bit and can't find anything, and I'm really hoping somebody can point my in the right direction.
I'm a hiker/camper, so I'm looking for those features, but I'm also looking for running/training features.
My "wonder watch" contains the following:
*Digital clock/alarm/stopwatch/backlight, the standard stuff.
*Compass (digital or otherwise)
*GPS
*Distance tracker (speed, pace, heart rate, etc optional)

I have found the Suunto brand of watch as the only one that suits most of this, but I'd rather spend $150-200 or less rather than $400+…

Any suggestions are MUCH appreciated. Thanks!!
GPS is optional. I'm really just looking for a solid watch with a compass and a distance tracker. (barometer, thermometer, etc are optional as well)

Anybody heard of anything good like that for under $150??

GPS watches are scarce; the receivers are too big to fit conveniently in a watch case. I use a Casio Triple Sensor (about $200), which has timekeeping features, a compass, a thermometer (basically useless), and a barometer/altimeter.
